Reporting to the Assistant Director, Treasury Services, this is moderately complex accounting and clerical work of a specialized nature related to investment banking, investment portfolio management, and development security bonding and deposit acceptance and release for the City. The work involves assisting with the settlement and placement of investments by the Assistant Director, Treasury Services; monitoring investment transactions and cash demands; preparing and maintaining a variety of documents, files, records and reports; preparing journal entries and payment vouchers for assigned accounts; assisting with cash management operations, merchant services, documentation of workflow design and notation; gathering and compiling information and data from multiple sources; and performing related duties as required.
Qualifications include Grade 12 supplemented by accounting and investment-related courses plus considerable related experience; or successful completion of two years in a recognized accounting program and sound related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The successful candidate will have sound knowledge of applicable department functions, regulations, procedures and practices; knowledge of basic accounting principles as related to the work performed; the ability to make complex calculations and computations and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts.
This is a temporary full time opportunity to May 1, 2021.
