The Police Administration Department requires a regular full-time Community Policing Services Supervisor. 

You will provide administrative support, organization, direction, and coordination of work for the Community Policing Unit, and supervise a small group of staff engaged in volunteer coordination, office support, and crime prevention and reduction activities.  You will also plan, organize, lead and facilitates projects and public education and awareness events, oversee volunteer recruitment and appreciation activities, ensure services and programs are provided effectively, monitor and track inventory, purchase supplies and equipment, and monitor expenditures and program budgets.

You will have considerable knowledge of and experience with community policing, crime prevention and reduction programs, and volunteer management.  Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service, and contribute positively in a team environment, and supervisory experience, are essential in this leadership role.  You must have the ability to use MS Office and type at a net speed of 50 wpm.  Related experience in a police or law enforcement environment and/or RCMP applications (PRIME, CPIC) will be given preference.  A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License is required.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance as a condition of ongoing employment.

Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete standardized tests or exercises to demonstrate their applicable skills and knowledge.

$30.98 to $36.45 per hour
Pay Grade 20 - January 2019 rates

Hours of Work:
Any seven (7) consecutive hours, exclusive of an unpaid one hour meal break, between the hours of 7:00am and 11:00pm, any five (5) consecutive days of seven.  The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule, with one scheduled day off each three-week scheduling cycle.
