About The Opportunity:
The Sustainable Waste Management Coordinator is responsible for the development of the sustainable solid waste strategic plan, its implementation, and coordination of the City of Prince George’s Solid Waste Management Program. The Sustainable Waste Management Coordinator leads the interpretation of environmental legislation and regulations and is responsible for assisting the City in achieving sustainable waste practices.  The incumbent oversees a variety of environmentally sensitive projects and refers projects to review agencies with respect to sensitive areas, providing recommendations as required. This position plays a key role providing technical direction and educating the public on waste reduction initiatives.

About Your Background:
Along with your knowledge of sustainability and solid waste management and programs, you possess a degree in Environmental Management or Science or a related discipline from a publicly accredited post-secondary institution recognized by the BC Transfer Guide.  Your five or more years of related work experience include strategic planning, project management, contractor management and recycling program delivery.  Your strong background in change management and well-developed communication skills will assist in achieving environmental performance improvement.  A valid BC Driver's License, full privilege Class 5 (or out of province equivalent) is required.
