We currently have a regular full time opening for a Design Technician to work as part of our Utilities Technical Services Section. You will be involved in the design of municipal engineering services with a focus on underground utilities.
Duties include design, layout, cost estimating, construction technical support for water, sanitary and storm systems, pump and pressure-reducing-valve stations, utilities and related projects.
Applicants must possess a certificate in Civil Engineering Technology from a recognized technical institute and certification as a technician with the A.S.T.T. of BC, supplemented by experience in municipal design work. Proficiency with computer aided drafting design (AutoCAD Civil 3D) is required along with a valid BC Driver’s Licence.
An equivalent combination of training and experience will also be considered.
The salary for this position is $34.98 to $41.29 per hour based on a 35-hour work week with an attractive fringe benefit package including a compressed work week.
