Engineering Technician

Permanent/Full Time

We are looking for an Engineering Technician to join our Engineering and Operations team. This position works closely with other engineering staff on a wide variety of construction, development and maintenance projects performed to municipal and industry standards. The incumbent will prepare and/or review plans, designs and layouts for traffic, parking and road and traffic control systems, carry out technical work related to routine construction projects involving municipal infrastructure, assist with reviews of engineering permit applications and associated processes, carry out field inspections, and review work in terms of quality control guidelines.

Applicants should have sound knowledge of engineering plans, specifications, terminology and good knowledge of the fundamentals of budgeting, costing procedures and contract documentation. The successful candidate will have completed a post-secondary diploma in Civil Technology and have sound related experience, preferably in a municipal setting.
