Aquatic Instructor III

Up to 2 Auxiliary Relief Positions

Saanich Commonwealth Place is seeking certified Aquatic Instructors who will be responsible for lesson management and instruction of the advanced aquatic programs in lifesaving, CPR and first aid training related to advanced aquatics training. This includes planning and preparing assigned programs; instructing assigned classes; evaluating participants; record keeping and public relations. Instructors also ensure participants are taught according to safety and skill standards outlined by Saanich and Aquatic agencies. Requirements include completion of Grade 12; any one of the following current appropriate awards recognized by the agencies offering advanced aquatic: First Aid Instructor, National Lifeguard Instructor, National Lifeguard Trainer, or Water Safety Instructor Trainer; six months teaching experience and a satisfactory police information check. Successful candidates will be required to work varying shifts (hours/shifts are subject to change).

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $23.57 per hour plus 13% in lieu of benefits. Job description and competition information can be found at This is an open until filled posting.
