Bylaw Services Officer – FULL TIME


The Bylaw Services Officer is responsible for providing technical assistance to the Protective Services Department under the Bylaw Compliance and Enforcement Program. The Bylaw Services Officer is required to receive public inquiries and complaints, research bylaws and Provincial Legislation, inspect property, issue warnings and municipal tickets, assist in the administration of business licences, prepare correspondence and reports and make recommendations to the Director of Protective Services on enforcement of municipal bylaws. The normal work week is 35 hours, with a variable schedule which could include evenings and weekends. This position will work every weekend of the peak season. The position may continue into the fall and winter on a casual basis.

This position will work both in the Fire Administration Office. Operation on a motor vehicle will be required with a valid Class 5 driver’s license and clear drivers abstract. You must also be able to operate a Side X Side ATV for patrols.

The preferred candidates will have one year post-secondary education in a related field and have certificates in Bylaw Enforcement and Investigative Skills 1 & 2.  A minimum of two years related experience in bylaw enforcement or as a police officer.  The hourly rate of pay for this unionized position is between $23.92/hr and $28.48/hr (2019 rates) plus 17.4% in lieu of benefits.
