The District of Summerland is seeking qualified individuals for casual work as a Building Inspector II.  The incumbent will perform building plan review and inspections to ensure compliance with the British Columbia Building Code and applicable District Bylaws.

If you have the ability to work as part of a team, exhibit excellent organizational, verbal and written skills, and are able to form positive relationships with staff, design professionals, contractors, developers and the public, we are looking for you!  A thorough knowledge of the current BC Building and Plumbing Codes, Building Bylaws, methods, practices, materials and procedures related to the construction of residential, commercial, institutional, industrial facilities or other structures is needed along with the necessary technical experience and required certifications.  Please view our website at www.summerland.ca for a complete job description.   

This is a Casual CUPE position and offers an hourly rate of $41.64 per hour plus 15% in lieu of benefits.  The total work available for this casual position is Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week for an approximate 3 – 6 months.  However, the District is open to discuss a lessor level of availability to help offset the current workload.
