The lifestyle community of Salmon Arm is nestled on the shores of Salmon Arm Bay of Shuswap Lake, centrally located half way between Vancouver and Calgary. With a population of approximately 18,000, it is the largest community on Shuswap Lake and serves as the business centre for the area.  Surrounded by rolling hillsides, Salmon Arm is rich in culture and arts and enjoys a full complement of excellent recreation and community facilities including a modern City Hall. With a moderate climate and four distinct seasons, Salmon Arm offers yearround recreation and is renowned for its low-stress lifestyle.

The City of Salmon Arm is seeking applications for the position of Lifeguard I. Under the direction of the Aquatic Supervisor, this position is responsible for lifeguarding and instructing aquatic programs, supervises part time staff on shift and enforces facility use rules.  The Lifeguard Instructor I also performs a variety of operational, instructional, janitorial and minor maintenance tasks.

Required qualifications include: National Lifeguard, Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, LSS Instructor, Aquafit Fitness Instructor and Standard First Aid / CPR-C.  Other qualifications and a detailed job description can be found on the City’s website .

This position falls within the Collective Agreement between the City of Salmon Arm and CUPE 1908. The pay rate for this position is $26.54 and includes an excellent benefit package. Qualified candidates should submit a cover letter and resume by Friday, March 29, 2019 to:
