We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Administrative Assistant to join our Civilian Police Services Department. Reporting to the Civilian Police Services and Projects Manager, the successful incumbent will be responsible for providing senior level administrative assistance to the Civilian Police Services team and RCMP senior management.
The successful incumbent to this position is highly collaborative and values the comradery of teamwork in getting the job done. Working within the Public Safety building, this position will is responsible for providing front-facing customer support and information; explaining and interpreting applicable policies, rules, regulations, and procedures as required; handling of confidential and sensitive information related to policing matters; scheduling and coordination of meetings including minute taking and transcription of confidential statements; and file management. In addition, this incumbent will have a keen awareness of managing departmental expenditures including invoice and purchase order preparation; reconciliation of actual to planned spending; monthly variance reporting; and providing onboarding and orientation support to new employees specific to Public Safety.

The ideal candidate should possess at minimum a Diploma in Business or Office Administration supplemented by courses related to Finance or Accounting along with 3-5 years progressive experience working in a municipal government setting in a similar capacity.
The candidate should have intermediate Microsoft Office skills as well as knowledge of financial systems and reporting practices.
