Temporary Full Time Positions
(Up to 5 months)

The Parks Division is seeking multiple temporary full time Parks Workers to perform a variety of manual tasks in the management of park areas in any of the following sections: Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Natural Areas, Construction and Maintenance.  The Parks Worker I will perform activities such as general plant heath care, tree planting, turf management, irrigation repair, and overall park maintenance. Other tasks related to carpentry and landscape construction include the installation and structural maintenance of playgrounds, buildings, park structures, signs, drainage, trails, and other parks related infrastructure.

Requirements include Grade 12 or equivalent; one accredited course related to the work common to Parks activities from a recognized post-secondary institution; six months recent previous experience in the works of a Parks Division; B.C. Pesticide Applicator’s Certificate; valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence and satisfactory police information check. Candidates with an equivalent combination or education and experience may be considered.  The successful candidates will be required to work Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

These are C.U.P.E. Local 2011 positions with a wage of $28.11 per hour plus 13% in lieu of benefits.
