The Rural Municipality of Wallace-Woodworth is seeking a motivated individual with excellent leadership skills for the position of Public Works Superintendent.

Under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer, and Council the Public Works Superintendent will assist the CAO in overseeing; the RM’s Public Works Department including roads, drainage, water distribution and treatment and wastewater distribution and treatment; along with urban transportation of sidewalks and urban road networks.
Also, the candidate will be responsible for overseeing sanitation, landfill management and operation and management of RM Equipment Fleet.

The successful candidate should possess a high level of morale by RM staff by encouraging competency and pride in the various task performed.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Valid Class 5 licence (Class 3 or higher would be considered an asset)
  • Five to Ten years of management experience in Municipal related or related field with various work sites and activities
  • Experience in road building and/or road restoration both paved and unpaved surfaces (Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering would be considered an asset)
  • Project Management would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of motor graders, loaders and other equipment is very important (ability to operate and train on this equipment would be considered an asset)
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of Senior Management Team, demonstrating leadership and innovation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven analytical problem solving and conflict management skills
  • Knowledge of reverse osmosis water treatment systems (MWWA Certification Class 2 or higher would be considered an asset)
  • Ability to develop Request for Proposals for Infrastructure projects along with contractor selection and on-site project management
  • Expertise in writing grant proposals and accessing infrastructure funding
