Watch Clerk - RCMP

The RCMP detachment has a vacancy for a full time permanent Watch Clerk position. A Watch Clerk provides support to the operational members and records section of the Penticton Detachment.  

Required Qualifications and Experience:
 
  • Training in PRIME, CPIC and JUSTIN systems.
  • Considerable experience with Uniform Crime Reporting Survey (UCR) scoring.
  • A thorough understanding of the Criminal Code of Canada in addition to provincial and municipal acts and regulations.
  • Experience with switchboard, complaint taking and telephone reporting in an RCMP environment.
  • The successful candidate will be technologically savvy with the ability to transcribe statements at a minimum speed of 55 w.p.m.
  • The Watch Clerk must be able to consistently produce precise work with superior attention to detail.
  • As the R.C.M.P. is a team based environment, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are required of the successful candidate.
  • This position will involve 10 hour shifts on a rotating basis (2 day shifts, followed by 2 night shifts). Therefore, the incumbent of this position must be flexible and able to work a variety of hours.
  • An R.C.M.P. Enhanced Security Clearance with the ability to maintain is a condition of employment for the Watch Clerk.
