To meet the increasing demands of the community’s consistent growth, as well as providing residents and visitors the very best of services, the organization is looking to attract a management professional as Director of Engineering and Development.

You will report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer as well as provide support to other management professionals within the organization.  As Director and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for overseeing a range of municipal services. Specifics include; Development services, and administration of the Public Works Department including engineering services, environmental services, transportation services, fleet division, parks division, water supply and wastewater treatment division, utilities division and airport management. In the current operational climate, there is a significant engineering component to the position.

As the ideal candidate, you have strong post secondary credentials as a CET or AScT and or degreed in the field of planning. You are experienced in areas of both infrastructure and development services and bring 5 plus years in a senior leadership role within a municipal or consulting firm setting. You have extensive knowledge of municipal infrastructure and fully conversant with development legislation, polices and regulatory and financial requirements. You are a hands-on, strategic, big picture leader, solutions oriented, and deal effectively with competing priorities. Known as a roll up your sleeves person, you are a team player, highly respected for your ability to work well under pressure and deliver results. You have experience managing highly motivated and well-respected professionals and are well regarded for your professionalism, commitment and passion in your leadership role. You are customer focussed and hold your staff accountable yet you are realistic.
