Manager of Electrical and Mechanical

The Abbotsford School District has a diverse opportunity for a dynamic, self-motivated individual. This position reports to the Director of Facilities and Transportation, and the incumbent will manage all aspects of preventive maintenance, repairs and upgrades of district facilities in relation to electrical, HVAC, DDC, plumbing and life safety systems.

As the largest employer in the city, the Abbotsford School District provides instruction to over 19,000 students in kindergarten to grade twelve. We have over 2,200 full and part time teaching and support staff who are dedicated to delivering leading-edge instruction to help students succeed.


  • Current trade qualifications, or equivalent, in a trade related to the position
  • A minimum of 5 years recent management/supervisory experience in a related setting
  • Successful completion of a supervisory or management skills credited course
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of preventive maintenance, project management and planning for construction/renovation projects
  • Knowledge of building, fire, municipal and related codes, regulations and requirements
  • Ability to exercise considerable independence of action in the performance of duties
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills and a demonstrated track record of getting work done
  • A passion for energy conservation
