Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this is clerical, public relations, and marketing work in assisting in the production of promotional material. An incumbent sells advertising space and advises the Finance department of advertising invoice amounts; compiles, condenses, and prepares consistent presentation of program descriptions; prepares and updates established information that appears regularly in marketing materials; assists with the preparation of basic promotional information and brochures, and assists in coordinating the production and distribution of same. In addition, an incumbent maintains related records and statistics; assists in the production and distribution of promotional materials such as flyers, posters, e-newsletters, and the coordination of news conferences and special events; assists in editing promotional materials and prepares press releases; places advertisements in publications; assists in gathering a variety of data; posts updates to various databases (i.e. CLASS), social media accounts, and various websites; assists in the coordination of marketing events. Performs related work as required.
Completion of Grade 12 including or supplemented by courses related to the work (Marketing and Communications) plus sound related experience, preferably with some experience in selling advertising space; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Thorough knowledge of business English and grammar is required. Considerable experience updating website content management systems, social media, e-mail marketing and databases (i.e. CLASS) are assets, along with proficiency with MS Office. Expereince with general office duties in a marketing department is desired. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with a variety of internal and external contacts and to liaise with existing and potential advertisers. Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia is required.
This is s Temporary Full Time opportunity to December 31, 2019.
