We have an exciting opportunity for the newly created position of Environmental Coordinator. The successful candidate will have a valid BC driver’s licence, an undergraduate degree or technical diploma in Environmental Science, Engineering Technology or related field with experience in program, project and event coordination and implementation. Experience in a local government setting will be considered an asset.
You are detail oriented, innovative and an excellent verbal and written communicator. You also demonstrate tact and diplomacy in all of your interactions as a working professional. Your strong facilitation skills serve you well when interacting with diverse groups and audiences and your computer skills and experience with social media platforms are an asset to promoting solid waste programs.
Working closely with the Recycling and Disposal Facility Operations Manager and the Regional Engineering Services Manager, and based out of the Greater Vernon RDF, the Environmental Coordinator responds to public inquiries related to solid waste management programs and initiatives and assists the team with overall promotion of waste diversion efforts for both residential and business sectors in the North Okanagan.
