Do you enjoy working in an office administration setting and contributing to a fast-paced, multi-unionized, customer service oriented work environment? The City of Richmond is currently looking to hire a Regular Full-Time Human Resources Associate – Health & Safety to provide information, provide advice and interpret issues related to health and safety, industrial hygiene, hazard/risk reduction assessment and strategies leading to the elimination of hazards/risk.
We are looking for someone that has:
- Knowledge of the Worker’s Compensation Act, WorkSafeBC OH&S regulations and claims management.
- Knowledge of and ability to compare regulatory requirements and provide guidance on methods to address the determined need.
- Demonstrated ability to provide advice and support to managers, supervisors, employees and Health & Safety committee representatives.
- Ability to lead workplace inspections, investigations and occupational hygiene testing.
- Ability to pull data and develop database reports in order to track safety program activities.
- Advanced skill level in software programs including: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point.
A post-secondary certificate or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety supplemented by a minimum two (2) years of industry-related experience including, hands on experience in designing/implementing safety initiatives and delivering safety training to diverse work groups, preferably in a municipal environment.
Preference may be given to candidates who possess a recognized safety designation or certification.
