Bylaw and Animal Control Supervisor

The Bylaw & Animal Control Supervisor supervises the day-to-day operation of the Bylaw Enforcement and Animal Control functions. This is a regular, full-time position, that will work to ensure that the operations of the Bylaw and Animal Control align with long term plans, budget, policy guidelines, and operational procedures. It includes recruiting and supervising staff, patrolling the municipality, investigating complaints, and preparing and monitoring budgets.

The successful candidate will possess thorough knowledge of Municipal Bylaws and provincial laws, and knowledge of local government laws and bylaw enforcement principles. Five years’ experience in the enforcement of municipal regulations and/or protective services with a minimum of two years of full time experience in a supervisory role., and training in paralegal/court and investigative procedures and Bylaw Enforcement Officer courses (Justice Institute level 1 & 2) or equivalent are preferred.
