Are you passionate about Parks and excited about working with community volunteers to bring Coquitlam Parks alive?  Your experience in park operations, landscape horticulture, outdoor sport programming, and volunteer management makes you a great candidate for this role.  As part of the Coquitlam Parks team, this position will be responsible for implementing an expanded volunteer engagement initiative working with residents, businesses, schools and community groups to enhance Coquitlam’s parks - and have fun doing it!  Your job will be to plan and organize activities and programs to connect residents and organizations with their parks and outdoor sport amenities, recruit and supervise volunteer Park Hosts and connect with our many community members to enrich and beautify Coquitlam parks.

This is hands on work that includes working outside in all types of weather, and the ability to support volunteers engaged in a variety of Park Spark and outdoor sport activities.  This position will build relationships with community organizations and work with Park Operations staff to schedule and deliver specific volunteer experiences. You will use your knowledge of outdoor sport activities and operations skills to maintain, program and support the variety of opportunities for outdoor sports in Coquitlam.

Applicants should have education, training and experience in the areas of parks operations, sport or recreation programming and volunteer management. Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is required. This position will be required to work evenings and weekends.  Having sport event management experience, volunteer management experience and strong customer service skills will be an asset.
