Associate Director, Business Development & Facility Use

The District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Associate Director, Business Development & Facilities Use. This position has a key role on the Business Leadership Team. 

Core Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Assistant Secretary-Treasurer, the Associate Director, Business Development and Facility Use leads the strategic development of the Surrey School District’s comprehensive fundraising strategy and facility use approach, including the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors and implementing the Board’s vision of making facilities available and accessible to the public.

The Associate Director enhances the district’s revenue generation capacity and in-kind donations by providing strategic direction and management of the district’s core development programs including:  donor relations, corporate/foundation grants and sponsorships, individual giving, and partnership development and negotiation with businesses, community groups, government agencies and individuals. 

The Associate Director will develop district-wide rentals strategies, objectives, and practices to maximize rental revenue and the efficiency of the rentals processes in an effort to ensure that school operations and student learning are prioritized.

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A degree in Communications, English, Marketing or Business/Finance; or an equivalent combination of post-secondary training and experience, as well a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation;
  • A successful track record as a senior manager leading a diverse team, preferably in a complex, public sector environment;
  • Strong financial planning and management experience with revenue and expenditure budgets;
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative, prioritize projects, make decisions and facilitate resolution of issues;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • The proven ability to lead as well as be a team-player.
