The Kátlódeeche First Nation (KFN) is a dynamic and future-oriented community on the south shore of Great Slave Lake in the Northwest Territories. KFN is consolidating the financial management under the Financial Services Division to support its band, municipal and business corporations.
Ideally the successful candidate willhave significant experience in progressively more responsible positions in community government and/or business. The ideal candidate will also have a CPA designationwith an extensive understanding and experience working with First Nations,community governmentsand businessoperations. Other formal training and/oreducation, combined withextensive related experience maybe considered. Ability to be a team player leading a small accounting team to meet the needs of the organization is key.
Kátlódeeche First Nation is responsible in all aspects of managing a number of business ventures and a modern and well-equipped community government. The Council has established partnerships, corporations and other organizations to effectively address and achieve results in a variety of targeted areas. In addition,the KFN Council strives to meet all socio-economic and cultural challenges facing the community.
The Director of Financewill play a vital role, as part of the senior management team working with these institutions to lead the community in positive, growth-oriented and constructive directions. This will include preparing budgets, reports and recommendations on all aspects of operations ensuring KFN operates efficiently and profitability is maximized for its corporations and business interests.
Salary will commensurate with experience. The right candidate will be offered a multi-year contract at the time of hire and expected to provide a satisfactory criminal records check. The position will have a mandatory 6 month probation period.
