The City of Surrey’s Park Operations is looking for a Community Services Assistant 2 to assist with garden openings, school workshops, and park events. The successful candidate will have a passion for community work, strong verbal communication skills, and excellent customer service skills and be able to work independently in an outdoor setting.

  • Host garden openings at Darts Hill Garden Park.
  • Facilitate ‘Lend-a-Hand’ classroom workshops for school children.
  • Assist at a variety of park programs and community events.
This position requires some physical work such as event set-up and take-down, and working outside with exposure to all types of weather conditions.

  • Completion of Grade 12.
  • One year of relevant experience in community service work or an equivalent acceptable combination of training and experience.
  • Occupational First Aid Level One, or acceptable equivalent.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a safe driving history.
  • Must be available for a variety of shifts, including evening and weekend shifts.
  • Demonstrated leadership and/or supervisory experience.

High Five and Fundamental Movement Skills (or other Physical Literacy) certification will be considered an asset.
