Manager of Corporate Communications

The Regional District of Central Okanagan is seeking a full-time Manager of Corporate Communications.  Reporting to the Corporate Services Officer this exempt position is responsible to develop and manage the RDCO Corporate Communications Strategy ensuring effective communications and a strong digital and social media presence.  The incumbent will provide strategic and tactical communications advice and support on all communications and social media platforms and establish and maintain solid communication channels with internal and external stakeholders.  This position also oversees the preparation and implementation of the Solid Waste Management Plan for the RDCO and its member municipalities.  You will lead a team of three employees.

To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of five years’ related experience and a Master’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism, and a graduate certificate in Professional Communication Management. Certification in Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) is desired.  You must have exceptional communication and leadership skills along with being creative, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.  This position works closely with all departments to foster strong collaboration and partnerships.  Proficiency in MS Office and advanced working knowledge of a wide variety of social media platforms is essential.  This position requires flexible work hours to meet operational requirements.
