 Building Service Worker

Two Auxiliary Relief Positions

 
The Municipal Facilities Division is recruiting for auxiliary relief Building Service Workers.  The successful candidates will be responsible for routine work performing custodial care, cleaning and daily maintenance of municipal buildings and facilities. This position requires sound knowledge of custodial and maintenance procedures and experience with up-to-date cleaning methods, minor building and equipment repair, and the use, care and upkeep of the materials and equipment used. 

Requirements include Grade 11 or equivalent; Building Service Worker Level 1; hard floor and carpet care certification as required; three months related experience; WHMIS certification valid within one year; Occupational First Aid Level I as required and a satisfactory police information check.  Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

This is casual, on-call work for everyday of the week, including weekends, afternoon shifts.  Monday – Thursday 4:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.; Friday 2:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
 
These are C.U.P.E. Local 2011 positions with a wage of $26.23 per hour plus 13% in lieu of benefits. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
