Team Leader - Aquatics

Regular Part Time Position

The District of Saanich is seeking an Aquatics Lesson Team Leader  to provide direction and support to lifeguard staff at Saanich Commonwealth Place and may assist in the provision of instructional or recreation programs. The successful incumbent will ensure that on duty staff are working effectively, the program is operating safely, and the facility is properly prepared for the enjoyment and satisfaction of all patrons.  The Team Leader will be the lead hand in the event of any emergency situation. 

Requirements include completion of Grade 12; current National Lifeguard (NL) Certification (Water Park Option); current Canadian Red Cross Water Safety (Learn to Swim) Instructor Certification); minimum two years lifeguarding experience including two years of teaching experience; current CPR Certification – Level C; current Standard First Aid; OFA Level 1 as required and satisfactory police information check. The successful candidate will be required to work varying shifts including evenings and weekends, up to 25 hours per week (hours/shifts are subject to change).

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $24.52 per hour and an excellent benefits package.
