The City of Nelson is currently recruiting for a Temporary full time (1 year term) Maintenance Worker II to assist our team of professionals in the Operations Department.
 
Day of Work: Monday through Friday*
Hours of Work: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm *
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: September 30, 2019 (approximately)

 
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Utilities or Public Works and Parks Supervisor and/or direction of the Lead Hand, this position assists with the operation and maintenance of the water distribution and collection systems.
 
Essential Qualifications:                                                                                                        
Education/Experience
  • Grade 12 or GED (General Equivalency Diploma)
  • Valid Class 3 BC Driver’s License with air endorsement
  • WHMIS
  • Level 1 Water Distribution Certificate
  • Level 1 Wastewater Collection Certificate
 
Employees may be required to participate in an on-call roster *subject to change as per operational Requirements
