The Town of Woodstock is seeking applications from police service leaders who possess the knowledge, skills and competencies required to be the next Chief of Police. Woodstock enjoys the services of one of the province’s smaller municipal police forces providing 24/7 coverage.
The Chief of Police is responsible for the management, administration and operation of the Police Force, the maintenance of law and order in the municipality, and the maintenance of discipline within the Woodstock Police Force.
The successful candidate will have a strong record of police service career progression, combined with exceptional communication and relationship building skills, accompanied by proven values such as integrity, fairness, cultural sensitivity and accountability.
The candidate must have a thorough understanding of, and experience with, police service organizational systems, information management, human resources, labour issues and knowledge of the full range of law enforcement operations.
Woodstock’s next Chief of Police will have a proven ability to motivate a police service, to ensure trust between the Police Force and the residents of the Town and be able to maintain effective and positive working relationships with other government and community leaders.
