Central Okanagan Public Schools (School District No. 23), Kelowna BC, provides education services to 22,000 students in the communities of Peachland, West Kelowna, Kelowna, Lake Country and the Regional District of Central Okanagan.

We invite applications for the position of:   HEATING, VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING (HVAC) MECHANIC
As a vital part of our Operations team, this position is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining heating, gas and refrigeration systems, and is critical in helping to ensure that a safe and comfortable working and learning environment exists at our 45 schools and facilities.
This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position, offering a wage rate of $30.69 per hour, plus a comprehensive employee benefit package including extended health and dental coverage, short term and long term disability insurance and participation in a defined benefit pension plan.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
  • BC or Interprovincial Journeyman Refrigeration Ticket;
  • Class “B” Gas Ticket with electrical endorsement (EE);
  • Environment Canada certificate in CFC/HCFC/HFC control and a certificate number for refrigerant handling in BC (issued by HRAI Canada);
  • Valid B.C. Driver’s License;
  • Experience with digital controls and maintaining rooftop units.
