Okanagan Skaha School District is seeking applications from an experienced leader to assume the position of Director of Information Technology, effective September 1, 2018, (or a mutually agreeable date.)   

Reporting to the Secretary Treasurer, the Director of Information Technology will plan, organize, and manage a team of dedicated employees, as well as contractors and managed services vendors to ensure the stable operation of the School District's IT infrastructure. Our infrastructure spans multiple schools and work sites with hundreds of combined users.
With a focus on customer support, the Director’s primary responsibilities include developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, such as: Student Information System (My Education BC),  network, server, email and storage infrastructure, PowerSchool ERP, Cloud Services – G suite, O365, Information security, disaster recovery, technology refresh, educational technology projects, business initiatives (including shared services projects), other financial and human resources systems and customer support functions.
The ideal candidate is willing to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple competing priorities and assignments. They must be capable enough to balance maintaining business continuity and planning for future demand while always delivering an exceptional internal customer experience.
The School District
SD No. 67 (Okanagan Skaha), representing the communities of Penticton, Summerland, Kaleden, and Naramata, serves the educational needs of approximately 5800 students through 11 elementary, 3 middle, 3 secondary schools and 1 DL school.

The Communities
The communities are nestled on the sides of Skaha and Okanagan Lakes in the heart of wine and fresh fruit country.  Apex Mountain Ski Resort, named nationally and North America-wide as one of the finest small destination ski areas, is an easy 45-minute drive from Penticton.   The combination of good working conditions, strong community support for schooling, and excellent recreational amenities makes the area a highly desirable home.
