If you’re passionate about making a difference in your community, we want to hear from you! The Auxiliary Clerical Team with the City of Burnaby is an exciting opportunity to begin your municipal career.  

As an Auxiliary Clerical Team member you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of clerical and administrative assignments throughout the various departments at the City, including our Engineering, Finance, and Information Technology Departments.  Both full-time and part-time assignments with varying lengths are available (depending on operational requirements).  Successful candidates will provide coverage for short-term leaves, special projects, and/or to assist with additional workflow.  Joining our Auxiliary Clerical Team will allow you to grow your knowledge with City operations and gain unique municipal experience while allowing you the flexibility to apply your skills in a diverse number of City departments.

Position Requirements:

  • Successful applicants will possess the following skills, knowledge, and abilities:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Word and Excel
  • Ability to type a minimum of 45wpm
  • Ability to learn tasks and computer systems quickly
  • Strong teamwork and customer services skills
  • Experience working with SAP or another ERP system (not required, but is considered a strong asset)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing customer service to internal and external customers

Auxiliary Clerical Team members must be available to work between 8:00am – 4:45pm Monday to Friday, and up to 8:00pm on Thursdays.  Special short term projects may also require weekend availability.  Hourly pay starts at $22.98 + 12% in lieu of benefits.
