North Vancouver District Public Library is a community-focused Library serving almost 90,000 residents in the District of North Vancouver at three NVDPL locations. NVDPL is currently recruiting an exempt Manager of Welcoming Initiatives who is eager to work in a demanding, high-paced public library environment that is undergoing major change and visionary service development. Reporting to the Director of Library Services, this key position ensures the library’s welcoming environment for all activities that take place within it, in support of the library as a community platform. Working as a member of the highly-networked strategic management team, this position ensures effective library services through facilities and operations coordination and improvements, collection retailing, promotions and circulation, staff scheduling oversight, and development and supervision of the circulation staff.
Other exciting aspects for the role will include: initiate and facilitate audits and reviews of the facilities, and collaborate with the Business Manager on facility service contracts; ensure facilities support the strategic direction through excellence in space planning, service hours, equipment, ambiance and accessibility; innovative service delivery; prepare, track, analyze and report on branch performance outputs; and provide support to the activities of the Friends of the Library and other community partners.
Your qualifications include graduation from University with a Master’s degree in Library Science from and accredited Library school, or equivalent, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a managerial, supervisory or leadership position.
