The City of Coquitlam is currently recruiting for an auxiliary on-call Parking Patrol Officer. This position entails enforcement, regulatory and investigational work involved in gaining compliance with Municipal by-laws and regulations. The work entails extensive public relations and liaison tasks in which the incumbent exercises independent judgement, action and tact, all of which is performed within policy, by-law, and regulatory limits. You will require considerable knowledge of bylaws/ regulations and the legality of various types of evidence. You will exercise powers of a Peace Officer by issuing parking tickets, and other municipal tickets as required.

The successful incumbent will have minimally completed high school graduation, possess sound experience in investigational and enforcement work or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed Bylaw 1 from the Justice Institute of BC (JIBC), or equivalent. A valid BC Driver’s license is required.

The CUPE hourly rate of pay is $25.84 - $30.37 (2018 rates), plus 12% in lieu of benefits is offered.
