Program Manager, Affordable Housing

The City of Richmond is seeking an individual who will be responsible for overseeing a challenging and dynamic portfolio that comprises affordable housing and homelessness. This position will lead the development and implementation of the Affordable Housing Strategy, Homelessness Strategy, and affordable housing actions within the Social Development Strategy.
 
Play an essential role in supporting affordable housing in our community by:

  • Overseeing, managing and providing strategic direction for the Affordable Housing section as Section Head, including setting priorities for the team.
  • Providing support and expertise to Council, City staff, Richmond service providers and community members.
  • Leading the research and assessment of the needs within the community; developing and upholding Affordable Housing policies; securing affordable housing units on behalf of the City.
 
Qualified candidates will have the following:
  • Completion of a University degree, preferably at the Master’s level in planning, housing, social planning, project management, research or related fields.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience in governmental and/or community experience in affordable housing, policy planning, land use planning and development, or related fields.
