Due to growth and staff movement the Surrey School District seeks to fill three positions in our Technologist team! Reporting to the Manager of Structural/Plumbing Maintenance and/or to the Manager of Grounds these positions are responsible for providing exceptional technical and building information support to ensure maintenance program and projects adhere to applicable codes, by-laws & regulations.  These position communicates between internal and external consultants/contractors/suppliers to ensure the successful completion of assigned projects and as such the ideal candidates must have exceptional communication skills both written and verbal. Success in these positions requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet multiple and competing deadlines as well as respond to time-oriented emergencies. The Technologist role requires thorough knowledge of computer applications and software applications related to the role.
 
The Surrey School District prides itself on providing our facilities staff with excellent work-life balance. These days-only positions offer a shift of 7am-3pm, Monday to Friday. The successful applicants will be based out of the beautiful District Facilities Centre located in the heart of Surrey.
 
Applicants must have:
  • Completion of a 2-year diploma in Technology in a related discipline from a technical college recognized by the School District;
  • Minimum three years related work experience in construction, maintenance field including supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience;
  • Registered or eligibility to register as an Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T) or Architectural Technologist (AT-BC) with the Association of Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC;
  • Sound knowledge of BC Building Code and other applicable entities;
  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license.
 
This is a unionized position that offers a 37.5 hour work week with an hourly wage rate of $30.83, plus a liberal benefit package including Municipal Pension, health, vacation and sick benefits.
