The Town of Smithers has a unionized opening in the Development Services department for a Planner.  This position reports to the Director of Development Services and will provide professional Planning functions for the Town.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Undergraduate degree in Community Planning plus accredited course in community development, geographic information systems or equivalent.
  • Member of, or eligible for, Planning Institute of British Columbia.
  • Diploma in Planning Technology, rural community planning/sustainable design.
  • 3 years municipal planning related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
