We have an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team in the Strategic Projects Division and work across a number of our internal City departments and with external stakeholders in the delivery of Capital projects. This role involves taking a hands-on approach to successfully deliver a range of facilities and buildings, parks infrastructure and other strategic projects of broad corporate priority. The incumbent will have a proven ability to take the lead in managing projects through the various stages of project definition, planning, design and construction to meet City’s objectives.
 
This role requires a deadline driven multitasker, an effective communicator with strong organizational capabilities and excellent interpersonal skills to influence outcomes. The successful incumbent will bring technical expertise and strong knowledge in the delivery of various forms of infrastructure, commercial building construction, financial management, building codes, contract law and relevant legislation and permitting.  Reporting to the Director of Strategic Projects, the Project Manager is expected to provide recommendations and direction with a calculated lens from concept to construction in a complex, multi-functional and political environment. This position will require a proven track record for building relationships with and across functional teams as well as with key internal/external stakeholders, and the ability to effectively resolve issues and identify opportunities with managed exposure/risk to the City.
 
The successful incumbent will be politically astute and bring a minimum 7 t0 10 years of experience in managing a portfolio of projects in a range of related industry sectors,  a University Degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture or Construction Management or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience in a related discipline. Experience in a municipal setting is desirable.
 
Professional industry credentials such as P.Eng., PMP, RA, AScT or other similar industry recognized designation is considered a strong asset.
