The District of North Vancouver is currently looking for a talented self-starter to fill the position of Applications Developer. In this challenging position, the individual will perform complex technical and analytical work in support of the District’s enterprise applications. General responsibilities include: developing custom applications and integrations; creating, supporting and optimizing systems routines; and providing technical support and maintenance where required. You will exercise considerable independent judgement and action within the framework of established guidelines and standards.
The incumbent will develop and design applications and web services; customize and support existing applications; write and maintain system administration routines; implement quality control procedures; prepare and maintain documentation; perform analysis and produce reports; maintain systems and data where required and; establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts. You will have a good working knowledge of database design principles; object-oriented programming, and application design patterns. You will have a passion for learning, a good sense of humour, and strong communication skills with both a technical and business audience.
The pay for this unionized position ranges between $38.78 and $45.83 per hour based on a 35 hour work week. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package and a compressed work week.
