After serving the Region for more than 45 years, the CAO is retiring; the Region is now seeking new leadership for the next phase of its advancement.

Reporting to the Regional Chair and Regional Council, the Chief Administrative Officer leads a workforce of more than 4600 employees and oversees close to $2B in resources. Working to bring together the efforts of all departments – Corporate Services, Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Social Services, Works, Public Health, and Durham Regional Transit – the CAO ensures the Region achieves its goals. Providing a safe and healthy workforce, providing excellence customer service, and delivering projects on time and within budget are all central to the role.
