Two Temporary Part Time Positions

The District of Saanich is seeking Tennis / Racquet Sports instructors to provide direct instruction, leadership and program management for summer racquet sports programs and camps at Cedar Hill Recreation Centre from July to September.  This position will be responsible for teaching the Junior Tennis and Racquet Sports Camps for youth, ages 4-11 years old.  The Instructor will also ensure that participants are acting in accordance to the facility rules and that the facility and equipment are in safe, working condition. 
Ideal candidates will be energetic, committed, reliable and come with a friendly attitude and a love for teaching kids. Must have flexible summer availability for camps scheduled in July and August.  The successful candidates will be required to work Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., 6 hours per day.  Hours/shifts are subject to change depending on program registration.
Requirements include minimum completion of Grade 10 and three months experience in the area of tennis instruction; satisfactory police information check; and must have or be able to obtain Emergency First-Aid and CPR-C.  TPA Tennis Canada/Progressive Tennis or other equivalent certifications are preferred. Squash or badminton certifications will also be considered. 
These are C.U.P.E. Local 2011 positions with a wage of $21.96 per hour plus 13% in lieu of benefits. Job description and competition information can be found at This is an open until filled posting.
