We currently have an immediate regular full time opening for a Design Technician to work as part of our Engineering Planning and Design team. You will be involved in the design of municipal engineering services. Duties included design, layout, cost estimating, construction technical support for transportation and utility related projects including roads, laneways, sidewalks, traffic calming, watermains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, culverts and retaining walls; as well as reviewing third party utility designs (BC Hydro, Telus, Shaw).
Applicants must possess a certificate in Civil Engineering from a recognized technical institute and certification as a technician with the A.S.T.T. of BC, supplemented by experience in actual municipal design work. An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Familiarity with computer aided drafting design (CAD) is required along with a valid BC Driver’s Licence.
The salary for this position is $34.29 to $40.48 per hour based on a 35-hour work week with an attractive fringe benefit package including a compressed work week.
