The Regional District of Central Kootenay covers 23,000 km2, has a budget of $58 million, employs 300 staff/contractors, and 325 volunteer fire fighters representing 17 fire departments. The largest municipalities in the district are Nelson, Castlegar, and Creston.
We are seeking an individual with substantive leadership experience as a Senior Manager or as a Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) who possesses a degree complementing the position or a comparable combination of education and work experience including both the private and public sectors.
Your experience providing leadership in both strategic business and organizational planning will be drawn upon as CAO. Additionally, your experience will provide a strong foundation for dealing with politically sensitive issues and challenges facing the RDCK. You will work with elected officials and staff to ensure the development of policy, procedures, and corporate practices to create further efficiencies and enhance service to the public. Valuing the regional, social, cultural, economic, and political interests of citizens residing within the RDCK is important to the organization.
