We are seeking a results oriented, enthusiastic team player to work as part of an integral, highly collaborative support team within the Permits Division of the Planning and Development Department. The successful incumbent will possess exceptional customer service skills; is highly organized; thrives on change and making things better; can handle multiple and often competing priorities with ease; and is able to establish/maintain effective working relationships with a variety of City personnel in a fast paced environment. 

In this public facing/customer service role, the successful candidate will be handling a variety of clerical/administrative tasks including but not limited to: preparation and processing of files; records management; creating/maintaining computer databases, spreadsheets and related materials pertaining to department activities; and compiling statistical and related reports as required. Additional duties include acting as a department focal point for time administration and handling a variety of general inquiries from other City staff or members of the public.

The ideal candidate will have had 1-3 years working in an administrative capacity, preferably within a municipal government setting; completion of Grade 12 plus additional course work and/or a certificate in support of working in an administrative capacity, or an equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.

As this position may require travel to various locations within the City of Coquitlam, a Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia with submission of a Drives’ abstract dated within 30 days’ from the date of application, is required.
