Building Service Worker I

Multiple Casual Positions

Cedar Hill Recreation Centre is seeking Building Service Workers to perform custodial care, cleaning and daily maintenance of municipal buildings and facilities. These positions require sound knowledge of custodial and maintenance procedures and experience with up-to-date cleaning methods, minor building and equipment repair, and the use, care and upkeep of the materials and equipment used.

Requirements include: Grade 11 or equivalent; Building Service Worker Level 1; hard floor and carpet care certification as required; three months related experience; WHMIS certification valid within one year; Occupational First Aid Level I as required and a satisfactory police information check. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidates will be required to work varying shifts including daytime, afternoons, evenings, overnights and weekends (hours/shifts are subject to change).

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $26.76 per hour plus 13% in lieu of benefits. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
