The District is seeking a dynamic person to join our management team as the Public Works Foreman. Under the direction of the Public Works Manager, this position is responsible for the efficient and productive coordination of day-to-day operations for Public Works. This is a working position that must work independently or in conjunction with operational staff. The District has a robust water distribution system (3 wells and gravity feed); sanitary sewer and septic receiving facilities; 72 kms of roads to maintain; cemetery and other functions related to public works. The individual must be enthusiastic and highly motivated with the ability to work in a challenging, fast paced organizational environment.

The Foreman will report to the Public Works Manager, provide support to the public works team implementing the organizations strategic plan, departmental workplan, risk management, and will advise the Public Works Manager on all matters pertaining to the department. The successful candidate will have proven leadership and organizational skills, project management background, and will maintain effective working relationships with staff, citizens, and businesses.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of Municipal Government; including supervision of staff, project management, with a demonstrable combination of education and experience in municipal infrastructure, maintenance and safety practices.

Educational requirements include: a Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering, certification in wastewater treatment, water treatment and water distribution, computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (all applications) is a must, as is a valid B.C. Class 5 (Class 3 preferable) Driver's Licence. Experience in supervising staff, SCADA system and Project Management is a definite asset.
