The Sunshine Coast Regional District is currently inviting applications for the position of Planner I (full-time). Under the day to day supervision of the Senior Planner, the Planner I researches, analyses, and draft reports on provincial referrals, land use planning permits. The Planner I also attends and facilitates discussion at SCRD advisory committee meetings and leads engagement processes for the Planning and Development Division.

Some of the key responsibilities include; to undertake research, analysis and draft reports on issues related to policy development for both long range policy planning, and review of development applications. To assemble information, undertake analysis, draft land use applications and permits and make recommendations for issuance. To coordinate referrals to provincial agencies and Advisory Planning Commissions, Agricultural Advisory Committee and Natural Resources Advisory Committee in accordance with regulatory or procedural requirements. This is a bargaining unit position and the hourly rate for this position is $42.41 per hour. This full time position includes a full benefit package upon the successful completion of a four month probationary period with the SCRD.
