Temporary Full-Time

The City of North Vancouver is the urban core of the beautiful North Shore and has a long-term vision to be “The Healthiest Small City in the World”, with five key priorities to be a City for People, a Liveable City, a Vibrant City, a Connected City and a Prosperous City.

The Engineering, Parks and Environment Department (Engineering Operations) requires temporary full-time Labourer 1 employees for the summer season (starting in April for approximately five or six months).

You may be assigned to any of the following areas:

  • the construction and maintenance of sidewalks and roads;
  • the maintenance of water, storm and sanitary sewer utilities; and/or,
  • general landscape, horticulture and arboriculture duties, turf maintenance tasks and/or natural areas maintenance.

You must have related experience and the demonstrated ability to perform heavy physical labouring/ manual work. A valid Class 5 Drivers License is required. Applicants with education leading to a trades qualification, degree, diploma or certificate will be given preference.

$28.25 per hour (January 2019 rates)

Hours of Work:
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday
