The Strategic and Corporate Services Department – Information Technology Division is looking for a temporary full-time Business Applications Specialist for approximately 2 year term.

Reporting to the Manager, Application and GIS Services, you will be involved with all phases of business applications configuration, procedure documentation and operation related to a Department’s business applications system.  As part of a high energy, well accomplished team, you will assist in gathering and documenting business applications and systems requirements, support the internal and external design teams in developing technical solutions, perform data evaluation and analysis, and prepare testing data environments.  You will also assist with creating and updating technical manuals and providing training documentation to the user departments.

The IT team has a culture of listening, learning, empowerment and collaboration.  You will be a collaborative team player with proven communication skills and proactive approach to supporting the City’s IT applications and users.

You have a post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant discipline (eg. computer science, business administration, public administration) and considerable related analysis experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.  You will also have strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver presentations in group settings.  Knowledge of Agile software development methodology, training development software (eg. EPAK), and/or asset management systems (eg. Infor Public Sector), would be an asset.

Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete standardized tests or exercises to demonstrate their applicable skills and knowledge.

$36.45 to $43.04 per hour
(Pay Grade 24 – January 2019 rates)

Hours of Work:
Any 7 consecutive hours between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, and may also be scheduled for a regular shift on Saturday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., exclusive of meal breaks. The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately each three-week scheduling cycle.
