We are currently seeking a talented HR Advisor – Job Evaluation to work as part of the Human Resources team conducting research, analyzing data and preparing reports and recommendations related to a broad range of human resources services including compensation and job evaluation. The HR Advisor – Job Evaluation is responsible for conducting research on Human Resources programs, policies and services; job evaluations, job and organizational reviews and salary administration activities; participating in dispute meetings; developing and presenting workshop materials; preparing and maintaining a variety of electronic records, reports and correspondence to support compensation and job evaluation activities; researching and gathering information to support cost benefit analysis, impact and scenario analysis and production of statistical reports, summaries and briefs; identifying opportunities for service improvement and participating in business process improvement. This role requires someone with the ability to communicate articulately and concisely, work collaboratively with clients and co-workers, analyze information taking into consideration a wide variety of factors and manage, coordinate and deliver multiple projects under tight timelines. The successful incumbent will work independently and use sound judgement, collaboration, tact and diplomacy in interactions. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include a University Degree in Human Resources or a related field, and three to five years of recent related Human Resources and/or compensation (job evaluation) experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) and/or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designations are preferred. The role requires considerable knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems such as SAP; compensation plans/systems, group benefit and pension plans, preferably in a unionized, public sector environment; standard Human Resources policies and practices and bargaining unit collective agreement language related to wages and classification. The role also requires superior clerical aptitude and skill in the use of software applications used in the work.
