The Town has an opening for a full time Records Management Technician. This position, reporting to the Director of Finance, is responsible for all aspects of the records management program and will provide direction and assistance to all town departments regarding records management. Records management duties include providing advice and working with files throughout the entire life cycle of the record; from creation to destruction. The successful candidate maintains both the Master File Plan and Record Retention Schedule and recommends changes to these when appropriate. The incumbent will design and conduct a compliance audit process and disaster recovery plan. The Town will also be moving from a paper-based filing system to an electronic based system and this position will be integral in the success of this project.

Qualifications:
  • Certificate in Information and Records Management or relevant post secondary education related to Library and Information Technology or Archival Studies
  • Three years experience in a related field
  • Membership in the American Records Management Association would be an asset
  • Prior municipal experience, experience in paper to electronic records conversion and the application of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act would also be an asset

A combination of experience and education maybe considered equivalent.

Compensation is based on a 37.5-hour work week and included benefits.
